Many corporations support their employee's philanthropic contributions, including those to private schools. Matching gifts allow you to double or triple the impact of your donations. Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and/or employee's spouses. Contributions will impact our students and provide the necessary means to grow inward, outward, and upward when enhanced by all Far Hills supporters.

The best way to find out if your company supports matching gifts is to check with your company's HR manager. Simply ask if your donation to a private primary/middle school can be matched!

Matching Gift FAQs:

• Many companies allow employees to submit match requests up to one year following the date of donation. Check with your HR manager regarding specific donation periods and policies.
• If your company has an online donation system administered through your Intranet or a matching gift portal, paperwork is automatically forwarded to Far Hills when you enter your donation amount. If matching gifts are handled directly by your HR department, you will need to obtain a matching gift form and submit this with your Far Hills donation. We will handle the rest of the submission request from our end. If you have any questions, contact Tom Evans, Director of Development 908-766-0622 EXT 1424.
• In the past, Far Hills has received matching gift contributions from these companies. 

If you own appreciated securities that have been held for more than 12 months, you can benefit two ways by making a gift of stock to Far Hills. First, you will be able to claim a charitable income tax deduction for the gift's full value. Second, you will avoid capital gains tax on the amount of appreciation that would have been due if you had sold the shares yourself.

If you choose to make a stock gift to Far Hills, please contact Tom Evans, Director of Development 908-766-0622 EXT 1424. to let us know of your intentions to transfer stock or for any assistance. You will need to let us know the number and issuer of shares donated and the date of the transfer. Please instruct your broker/banker to transfer the securities to the school's brokerage account using the information below:

Far Hills accepts grants from Donor-Advised Funds (DAF), which are giving vehicles established at public charities (i.e., Fidelity Charitable Fund, Ayco Charitable Foundation)—donors make a contribution(s) to the fund, receive an immediate tax deduction and then recommend charitable grants over time from the invested money. DAF grants can be scheduled in advance, as well as a bequest upon death. Please provide the following information to your fund administrator to arrange a grant to Far Hills:

FH accepts in-kind gifts of personal property, services, or non-cash items such as fitness equipment, furniture, instruments, art supplies, or similar items as long as the school has some related use for them. To discuss and/or arrange an in-kind gift contribution, contact Tom Evans, Director of Development 908-766-0622 EXT 1424.

In order to make a gift in memory or in honor of someone or a special occasion, please include a note with your contribution, including the name/address of whom we should notify of this thoughtful tribute.
