The Duel That Ended it All

 

In this scene, Laertes requests to duel Hamlet.  He is upset because Hamlet killed his father. Laertes and King Claudius poison the tip of Laertes’ sword to guarantee Hamlet’s death. King Claudius also put poison in a cup to kill Hamlet as a backup plan if the poisoned tip doesn't work. In an unexpected turn of events, Queen Gertrude drinks the poison and dies. Laertes and Hamlet stab each other. King Claudius was also stabbed with the sword and smothered with the poison. The only survivor was Horatio, the best friend of Hamlet.
