Falcons Bring Spirit and Style to the Court at Grades 5–8 Half-Court Hoops
On Tuesday and Wednesday, March 3–4, the Far Hills Athletic Center was alive with energy, laughter, and creativity as students in Grades 5 through 8 came together for the annual Half-Court Hoops event. What made this evening especially memorable was the mix of Upper School grades competing side by side, turning the games into a lively celebration of teamwork, camaraderie, and Falcon spirit.
Students brought their A-game both on and off the court, sporting a dazzling array of costumes that added a playful flair to each matchup. From sumo wrestlers and unicorn onesies to bananas and golfers, the creativity was endless—and the cheers from the crowd made every basket, pass, and steal even more exciting. Each game blended friendly competition with spirited teamwork, giving every participant a chance to shine.
The half-court format kept the action fast-paced and engaging, allowing players to stay involved while showing off their basketball skills. Beyond the scores, it was the laughter, encouragement, and shared excitement that made the event truly special. Students on the sidelines cheered one another on, helping foster connections across grades and strengthening the sense of community that defines Far Hills.
Ron Sansone, Director of Athletics and Physical Education, shared his thoughts on the event:
“It’s always amazing to see our students come together in a fun and spirited environment like Half-Court Hoops. The creativity in costumes, the energy on the court, and the support for one another truly highlight the camaraderie and school spirit that make our Falcon community so special.”
As the final games wrapped up, the gym was buzzing with stories of impressive shots, hilarious costume moments, and memorable teamwork. The Grades 5–8 Half-Court Hoops event once again showed that whether on the court or cheering from the sidelines, Falcon pride shines brightest when students come together.
