Spots, Songs, and Showstoppers: Lower School Shines in 101 Dalmatians Kids
On Thursday, May 21, the Far Hills Lower School transformed into a whirlwind of spots, tail wags, and puppy pandemonium with their spirited performance of 101 Dalmatians Kids. Our young “pups” took the stage with boundless energy, bringing this classic tale to life in a production that was equal parts heartwarming, mischievous, and full of personality.
From the opening scene, the stage was transformed into the bustling world of London—complete with playful pups, determined heroes, and a perfectly villainous Cruella De Vil. The students embraced their roles with confidence and creativity, filling the performance with expressive acting, spirited musical numbers, and moments that had the audience laughing and cheering.
What made this production especially memorable was the sense of joy that radiated from the stage. Whether delivering lines, singing in unison, or moving through choreographed scenes, each student played an important role in bringing the story together. The result was a performance that felt cohesive, dynamic, and full of life.
Behind the scenes, weeks of preparation led up to this moment. Students worked together to learn their parts, support one another, and build something as a team. Through rehearsals and collaboration, they developed not only their performance skills but also confidence, responsibility, and a strong sense of accomplishment.
“The growth we see in students throughout this process is truly incredible,” shared Amy Burns, Lower School Music Teacher and Performing Arts Department Manager. “From their first rehearsal to the final performance, they build confidence, take risks, and learn how to support one another. It’s so rewarding to watch them shine on stage.”
The production also showcased the creativity and dedication of the faculty and staff who guided the process, helping students turn their hard work into a polished and engaging show. From costumes to staging to direction, every detail contributed to a performance that felt both playful and polished.
More than a musical, 101 Dalmatians Kids was a celebration of our Lower School students stepping into the spotlight, trying something new, and discovering just how much they are capable of—proving that with teamwork, creativity, and a little puppy spirit, anything is possible.
Congratulations to our talented cast and crew on a fantastic performance that captured the hearts of the entire audience!
