Preschool Students Bring Fall to Life During Build-a-Scarecrow Day
On the morning of Monday, October 27, Far Hills Country Day School’s Preschool students enjoyed a fun-filled and creative Build-a-Scarecrow Day, celebrating the season with laughter, teamwork, and imagination. Joined by parents, family members, and special friends, the children enthusiastically assembled and decorated their scarecrows, giving each one a unique personality that reflected their creativity and individuality.
From selecting colorful clothes to stuffing the scarecrow bodies with paper and adding fun accessories, every step of the process was met with excitement and collaboration. Parents and special friends played an important role, helping the children with trickier steps, offering encouragement, and sharing in the joy of seeing their creations come to life. The morning buzzed with energy, smiles, and plenty of giggles as students proudly worked alongside their helpers and watched their scarecrows take shape.
Once completed, the scarecrows were displayed along the fence surrounding the Piazza Circle, providing a festive backdrop for the upcoming Lower School Halloween Parade. Families were encouraged to stroll through the area and admire the charming scarecrow creations, each one a reflection of the students’ hard work, creativity, and collaborative efforts with their helpers.
Beyond the hands-on fun, Build-a-Scarecrow Day offered preschool students valuable opportunities to practice teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity. By working together with adults and peers, children learned the importance of collaboration, patience, and shared accomplishment. It was a morning that encouraged curiosity, self-expression, and pride, leaving lasting memories for both the students and their family and friends who joined in the fun.
