Preschool and Kindergarten Families Share the Joy of Music at Far Hills
On March 5 and 6, Far Hills Country Day School welcomed Preschool and Kindergarten families for a joyful celebration of the arts. Just before Spring Break, parents and loved ones had the opportunity to step inside their children’s world of music—experiencing firsthand the creativity, confidence, and joy that define the arts in the early years at Far Hills.
The sessions offered a unique window into a “day in the arts” for our youngest learners. Families were invited to sing, clap, and dance alongside their children, joining in the very activities that help students develop musicality, rhythm, and self-expression. What might typically be an ordinary school day became an extraordinary shared experience, filled with lively movement, playful instruments, and proud smiles.
For the children, it was a chance to share their favorite songs and activities with their biggest supporters, proudly demonstrating the growth they’ve achieved since the start of the year. For families, it served as a heartwarming reminder of the important role the arts play in nurturing not only skills but also joy, confidence, and connection in their child’s education.
“At Far Hills, the arts are not just something we do—they are part of who we are,” said Amy Burns, Lower School Music Teacher and Performing Arts Department Manager. “These Family Music Classes give parents a glimpse into the joy, creativity, and confidence their children build every day through music. Watching families and children connect through song and movement is truly magical.”
Moments like these highlight the powerful role the arts play in bringing the Far Hills community together—creating joyful memories while nurturing creativity, confidence, and connection in our youngest learners.
