Grade 4 Takes a Step Back in Time at Liberty Hall Museum

History came to life for our Grade 4 students during an exciting and educational trip to Liberty Hall Museum, the former home of New Jersey's first governor, William Livingston, and the Kean family. This historic estate, which housed the Kean family until 1995, served as the perfect setting for exploring the American Revolution and its lasting impact.

During the museum’s "Crown to Country" program, students were guided by a museum educator as they delved into the causes and consequences of the Revolution. Touring four distinct rooms of the mansion, they were transported back in time, immersing themselves in the history of the era. The hands-on experience didn't stop there—students also had the chance to play colonial-era lawn games, further enhancing their understanding of life during the 18th century.

The trip was a perfect blend of education and interaction, making it a memorable adventure that deepened the students’ connection to their classroom lessons. The visit to Liberty Hall Museum not only brought history to life but also inspired a greater appreciation for the past, leaving our Grade 4 students eager to continue their historical explorations.
