Grade 1 Students Celebrate Community Helpers

Grade 1 Students Celebrate Community Helpers

Far Hills Country Day School’s Grade 1 students recently showcased their highly anticipated Community Helpers project, welcoming classmates, parents, family members, and faculty to celebrate their hard work and discoveries. The event highlighted the important roles that members of the Far Hills community play in supporting the school.

As part of the social studies and writing curriculum, each student selected a community helper—ranging from teachers and staff members to administrators—and conducted research to understand their responsibilities and contributions. After completing their essays, the students presented their findings to an enthusiastic audience, demonstrating both knowledge and confidence.

The project offered students a meaningful opportunity to explore how different roles impact their school community and emphasized the importance of collaboration, service, and support. Through their presentations, the young learners gained a deeper appreciation for the many individuals who help keep Far Hills running smoothly.

Grade 1 teacher Danielle Kinney shared, “It’s incredible to see our students so engaged and proud as they share their research. They not only learned about the important roles in our community but also developed confidence in expressing their ideas to an audience.”

Congratulations to our Grade 1 students for their thoughtful research, engaging presentations, and the pride they took in honoring the people who make their school community thrive.
