A Visit from the Bernardsville Fire Department

A Visit from the Bernardsville Fire Department

Our Preschool students had an incredible experience on Wednesday, October 16, when they got to meet their real-life heroes! Deputy Chief Keith Keiling from the Bernardsville Fire Co., Fire Official Steve Waters, and Fire Inspector Ryan Valentino from the Fire Prevention Department made a surprise visit to campus with a fire truck, sparking excitement and curiosity among the children.

During the visit, the students learned about the critical role firefighters play in the community, from responding to emergencies to ensuring everyone’s safety. The firefighters introduced the basics of fire safety, explaining the essential protective gear that keeps firefighters safe during dangerous situations. The highlight of the morning was when Chief Keith Keiling suited up in full firefighter uniform for all the students to see!

It was an unforgettable day of hands-on learning, as our students were inspired by these brave community helpers. The students were captivated by the firefighters' stories and demonstrations, gaining a better understanding of the vital role that fire departments play in keeping us safe. The visit also helped to reinforce the importance of emergency preparedness in an engaging and age-appropriate way.

A huge thank you to the Bernardsville Fire Company for showing us what it truly means to be a hero!
