A Special Visit from the Bernardsville Police Depatment

A Special Visit from the Bernardsville Police Depatment

Far Hills Country Day School welcomed some very special community helpers on Monday, October 28! Our Preschool students were filled with excitement as they met Sergeant Richard and Officer Skinner from the Bernardsville Police Department. This engaging visit provided a unique opportunity for our young learners to connect with heroes in our community and understand the important role police officers play in our safety. The children listened intently as they learned about the various duties of a police officer, including community safety, helping those in need, and their equipment.

One of the highlights of the visit was the hands-on experience of touring a real police car and checking out the sirens and lights. Sergeant Richard and Officer Skinner demonstrated how the equipment works while explaining the importance of each tool in helping keep the community safe. As a special treat, each student received their very own police badge, which they proudly wore throughout the day. The badges served not only as a fun keepsake but also as a symbol of the respect and appreciation our young learners developed for the work police officers do.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Bernardsville Police Department for taking the time to visit our campus and share their knowledge with our Preschool students. This event not only helped foster a positive relationship between our children and local law enforcement but also instilled valuable lessons about safety, responsibility, and community service. At Far Hills, we believe in the importance of connecting students with community helpers, and this visit was a wonderful example of that commitment. We look forward to more enriching experiences in the future!
