First Grade Shines in “How the Animals Got Their Marks”
The First Grade took to the stage on Friday, May 1, for a joyful and imaginative performance of How the Animals Got Their Marks, delighting the audience with music, movement, and meaningful storytelling.
The play brought two vibrant tales to life. In How Leopard Got Its Spots, students explored themes of honesty and consequences, as Leopard’s poor choice led to a lasting reminder of the importance of telling the truth. In How Tiger Got Its Stripes, the story shifted to pride and personal growth, as Tiger learned that true wisdom comes not from appearance or strength, but from kindness and humility.
Throughout the performance, students filled the stage with energy, singing, dancing, and fully embodying their roles. From lively festival scenes to moments of reflection, the play highlighted not only their creativity and confidence but also the powerful lessons woven into the stories.
The play concluded with a heartfelt message that resonated with all: our choices matter, we can always grow, and being kind, wise, and true is what makes each of us special.
Bravo to our First Grade students for a performance full of heart, joy, and important reminders for us all!
