Students Go to Buehler Science Center

Far Hills Country Day School's Grade 7 students recently went to Buehler Challenger and Science Center in Paramus, New Jersey. This field trip takes place during the Space unit. It is a skills-based trip where students learn about the planet and the NASA missions.

Every NASA mission designs a specific patch that the astronauts wear. Students discuss this during class ahead of the field trip when looking back at the Apollo mission patches. Students are assigned homework to think about our mission and design a patch to submit so the class can vote on the best.

Pictured above are the Grade 7 student's submissions for the mission patches.

Once there are finalists from each class the entire grade votes for one patch that all crew members will wear on the day of the mission.

Pictured above are the mission patch finalists.

Pictured above is the winning mission patch that all students wore on the field trip. The winning design was created by Daphne K. (pictured below).
