Kicking Off National Volunteer Month

Kicking Off National Volunteer Month

We are kicking off National Volunteer Month with a donation drive pick-up from God's Co-op Pantry. Our Falcons are a force to do good in this world because kindness and empathy is part of our DNA. Thanks to our fantastic community of faculty, staff, students, and parents, we donated almost 2,000 items to the Pantry. We are so proud of this all-school effort where each class contributed an enormous amount of essential items to our neighbors in need.

Throughout our month-long donation drive, we added in some friendly competition and offered a prize to the grade that collected the most items. Congratulations, Grade 6, on collecting the most items for your grade. Their prize is a dress-down day!

About God's Co-op Pantry

God’s Co-op Pantry opened in June 2011 as a mission to feed hungry neighbors in Bernardsville, Basking Ridge, and Peapack-Gladstone. The Pantry primarily serves three distinct and growing populations: veterans living on the grounds of the VA Hospital, local senior citizens, and our underserved Hispanic neighbors. The services of the Pantry are offered to local residents living below the poverty level.

Did You Know?

  • Over 1,500 people live below the poverty line in Bernardsville, 800 in Basking Ridge, and 110 in Peapack-Gladstone.
  • Poverty is defined as living on or below $45,510 a year for a family of four.
  • Before God’s Co-op Pantry, the only available food pantry was 15 miles away, with no direct public transportation.
  • The Pantry is currently distributing approximately 300 bags of groceries per month.
