Grade 8 Students Shine During Secondary School Mock Interview Day

Grade 8 students at Far Hills recently took a significant step forward in their educational journeys during our Secondary School Mock Interview Day. This special event, designed to prepare students for the secondary school application process, was an invaluable experience, blending expert advice with practical, hands-on learning.

The students had the amazing opportunity to hear from Morristown Beard School's Director of Admission and Financial Aid, Sarah Ellerton. She shared crucial insights into the application and interview process for secondary schools, helping students understand the intricacies of what lies ahead. The students eagerly absorbed information on key factors such as presenting themselves confidently, articulating their thoughts clearly, and highlighting their unique strengths during interviews. This session laid a solid foundation, ensuring that every student felt well-prepared for the challenges to come.

With this knowledge fresh in their minds, students then had the opportunity to participate in mock interviews with volunteers from our community. These mock interviews gave students a realistic glimpse into what to expect during secondary school admissions interviews. The students embraced this opportunity, gaining firsthand experience in answering questions under pressure and receiving immediate, constructive feedback.

As the day drew to a close, students took time to reflect on their experiences. They walked away with valuable feedback that will be instrumental as they navigate the secondary school application process. The confidence gained, and skills developed during the mock interviews will undoubtedly serve them well as they prepare for the next steps in their educational journeys.

Mock Interview Day was more than just a practice run—it was a day of growth, learning, and preparation for the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. We are proud of our Grade 8 students for their dedication and enthusiasm, and we look forward to seeing them apply these new skills as they embark on their future endeavors.
