Basking Ridge resident James “Jimmy” Gibbons, a Grade 8 student at Far Hills Country Day School, has been named the 2022 recipient of the Blair Academy Far Hills Country Day School Endowed Scholarship Prize.
“I am honored to have been chosen for this prize and am so excited to be joining the Blair community,” said Jimmy Gibbons. “I have enjoyed my time at Far Hills and wanted a high school with similar values. Blair is a school that challenges each individual to be curious every day, to exemplify kindness and empathy, and to discover your passions. I cannot wait to get started this fall!”
The Endowment Scholarship Prize benefits an eighth-grade Far Hills student who has been accepted and has committed to attend Blair Academy. This is not a scholarship where students individually apply, but rather one where they are chosen based upon various factors. Jimmy’s superlative academic record, combined with his character and commitment to serve others, made him a standout candidate for the prize this year.
“Being a Grade 8 student this year and a part of the oldest grade in the school, Jimmy was a student that led quietly by example and one that many students looked up to," said Georgia Zaiser, Head of School at Far Hills Country Day School. “He is the definition of a well-rounded student and one that takes pride in his efforts equally in the arts on stage, athletically on the fields, and academically in the classrooms. Jimmy’s personality and drive not only align with our Five Pillars of Character but directly correlate with Blair Academy’s values and ideals. This recognition is so well-deserved, and the entire Falcon community at Far Hills Country Day School is thrilled for Jimmy and the new journey he is about to embark on at Blair Academy.”
