Far Hills Country Day School was proud to host its Secondary School Fair on Tuesday, September 28. Far Hills Country Day School Upper School students and their families had the opportunity to interact with over 30 visiting secondary schools to kick off their secondary school adventure.
The afternoon started with a panel speaker series. Peter Curran, Head of School at Blair Academy and Far Hills parent, opened up the presentation as the keynote speaker. To close out, Mr. Curran shared a video of Far Hills alumnae Chandler Glickman, who is now a student at Blair Academy, offering advice for our Upper School students. A few short years ago, she was sitting in their exact seat, preparing to start her very own secondary school journey.
The presentation was then turned over to an admissions panel of experts for a question and answer series with our associate director of secondary school placement, Dan Kramer. They were then available for a live Q&A with the parents in the audience.
Our panel speakers were:
Anna Birnbaum, Director of Financial Aid and Senior Associate Director of Admission at Millbrook School
Keith Fischer, Director of Admission and Enrollment Management at Newark Academy
Kelly Dun, Director of Enrollment Management at Oak Knoll School of The Holy Child
The panel was able to give Far Hills students and parents a balanced look at the many options they have for secondary school. They provided helpful insights into the application process, as well as how to figure out if a school is the right fit.
Our students dressed the part, asked informed and intelligent questions, and started their secondary school journeys confidently and excitedly.
Thank you to all schools that participated and allowed our community the chance to have a brief but comprehensive peek into your schools and all you have to offer.
