From Classroom to Courtroom: Christopher Zaiser ’16
From the classrooms of Far Hills to the heart of Chicago, Christopher Zaiser ’16 is embarking on an exciting new chapter—one shaped by curiosity, academic rigor, and a growing passion for the law. This fall, Christopher will matriculate at the prestigious Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, taking the next step toward a future in legal studies and public service.
After graduating from Kenyon College with a double major in international studies and Spanish, Christopher spent the past year working at the Defense Logistics Agency in Columbus, Ohio. It was there—surrounded by federal regulations and immersed in the real-world application of policy—that his interest in law began to take shape. “Working closely with laws and regulations made me realize that law school was something I’d truly enjoy,” he reflects.
Christopher was drawn to Northwestern not only for its national reputation, but also for its location in a dynamic legal market and its renowned clinical programs, which provide hands-on experience early in a student’s legal education. He looks forward to both the academic challenge and the professional opportunities that await in Chicago.
While his path has taken him far from Far Hills, Christopher credits Far Hills with laying an important foundation for his success. He recalls the Grade 8 Expo as a particularly formative experience. “The chance to dive deeply into a topic and speak with experts is something that isn’t common at that age,” he says. “It helped prepare me for similar work in high school and college.” He also points to the strength of the English and history programs, which sharpened his reading and writing skills and sparked his interest in global studies.
Beyond academics, Christopher’s journey since graduation has been filled with meaningful and memorable experiences. During his time at Kenyon, he studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and competed as a left tackle on the college’s Division III football team for four years—an experience that speaks to both his discipline and team spirit.
As he prepares to begin law school, Christopher is keeping an open mind about where his legal career may lead. For now, he is focused on learning, growing, and taking full advantage of the opportunities ahead. His advice to current Far Hills students? “It’s too early to be worrying about your career. Focus on doing well in school and enjoying the learning process.”
With a strong foundation, a thoughtful perspective, and a willingness to explore, Christopher exemplifies the many paths a Far Hills education can inspire.
