Alumni Spotlight: Sophie Rahman ’17 Returns to Far Hills

Alumni Spotlight: Sophie Rahman ’17 Returns to Far Hills

Far Hills was thrilled to welcome back alumni Sophie Rahman ’17 to campus on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, for a special visit. Sophie, who recently graduated from Ithaca College, took a walk down memory lane—literally—when she returned to the halls where her educational journey began.

Now living with a former classmate, Sophie is exploring a future in education. Inspired in part by her own experiences as a student at Far Hills—and by our very own Head of School, Georgia Zaiser, who taught her in Grade 6—Sophie is interested in teaching Middle School history. She currently substitutes at Willow School, where her mother works, and is considering subbing opportunities at Far Hills as well.

During her visit, Sophie was blown away by how much the campus has grown and evolved since her days as a student. “The facilities have changed so much—for the better!” she remarked. One beloved spot that’s still etched in her memory? The Ropes Course, which she fondly remembered as a highlight of her time here.

Of course, no trip back to Far Hills would be complete without a visit to the class photos lining the hallway. Sophie was eager to spot familiar faces and reminisce about her time in our close-knit community.

We’re always so proud to see our alumni thriving—and even more proud when they’re inspired to return and give back. Thank you for visiting, Sophie!
