Holiday Season Highlights at Far Hills
The holiday season at Far Hills has been nothing short of magical, filled with creativity, joy, and community spirit.
In the Upper School, the highly anticipated Door Decorating Contest transformed our hallways into a gallery of festive cheer. Students worked together to design doors that reflect the essence of the holidays, featuring everything from snow-covered winter scenes to imaginative celebrations of seasonal traditions. The creativity and effort on display are truly remarkable, and the competition has added a fun and festive energy to the school.
Meanwhile, in the Lower School, students spent an afternoon immersed in holiday-themed activities, guided by their enthusiastic class parents. The day was a wonderful opportunity to blend creativity, learning, and fun. Students sculpted delightful clay snowmen, expressing their individuality through intricate details. They also brought gingerbread designs to life with vibrant colors, played dreidel while learning about its history and traditions, and collaborated on holiday posters and collages that beautifully captured the spirit of the season.
Adding to the excitement, Grade 8 students tapped into their creativity by designing personalized ornaments using the laser engraver. This activity not only allowed them to learn about the technology but also gave them a keepsake to cherish for years to come.
Sweet memories filled the air this week as Far Hills Kindergarten students took part in the beloved Gingerbread Event. The young bakers got to work crafting 8-inch gingerbread creations, using math, measuring, chemistry, patience, and cooking skills to perfect their holiday treats. The excitement continued when our Kindergarten students and their parents gathered in the classrooms for a festive decorating session. With icing, sweets, and candy galore, the students brought their gingerbread creations to life, adding their own unique touches and holiday cheer.
These events highlight the essence of Far Hills—fostering creativity, collaboration, and connection across our community. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the parents, teachers, and staff who worked behind the scenes to make these celebrations truly special.
