Far Hills Hosts Grade-Level Parent Coffees

Far Hills Country Day School recently welcomed parents to campus for two special Grade-Level Parent Coffees—one for Lower School families and another for Upper School families. These informal gatherings created opportunities for parents to connect, hear from school leaders, and engage in conversations about their children’s educational journeys.

The Lower School Parent Coffee brought together families of students in Preschool through Grade 4. The morning buzzed with warm exchanges between longtime friends, new families, the Head of School, and members of the Leadership Team. Conversations centered on supporting young learners as they continue to grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence—all over coffee that set a welcoming tone for the day.

The Upper School Parent Coffee gathered families of students in Grades 5–8 for thoughtful dialogue about the unique opportunities of the Upper School years. Parents connected with one another and with school leaders while exploring topics such as academic growth, leadership development, and preparing students for the future. A key theme highlighted was the idea of “soft landings”—reminding families that the Upper School years are a time for students to take risks, make mistakes, and learn from them in a supportive environment. Through these experiences, students gain independence, resilience, and confidence as they prepare for their next steps.

Both events reflected the collaborative spirit that defines Far Hills. We are grateful for the dedication our parents show in actively partnering in their child’s education. Your involvement is essential to the success of our students, and we look forward to many more enriching conversations throughout the year.
