Far Hills’ First Family Music Class of the School Year

Far Hills’ First Family Music Class of the School Year

On Monday, October 13, Far Hills Country Day School joyfully hosted the first Family Music Class of the 2025–26 school year. Designed for children ages 6 months to 4 years and their caregivers, the class invited families to explore music together through movement, singing, and play. Led by Far Hills’ award-winning music teacher, Amy Burns, the morning was filled with laughter, rhythm, and connection as children expressed themselves musically in an engaging, age-appropriate environment.

Families gathered in the Lower School Piazza for an engaging start to the week. From the very first notes, little ones eagerly joined in—some clapping along to the beat, others swaying, bouncing, or singing with big smiles on their faces. Parents and caregivers were active participants as well, joining their children in songs, call-and-response games, and movement activities that filled the space with energy and joy.

The session also provided time for families to connect with one another, building a sense of community that is central to the Family Music Class series. Caregivers chatted and laughed together between activities, sharing in the joy of watching their children discover new ways to engage with music. This first session was just the beginning—Family Music Classes will continue throughout the year, offering many opportunities for families to return, build community, and enjoy these memorable mornings together.
