Celebrating the First Day of the 2025–26 School Year with Beloved Traditions
Far Hills Country Day School joyfully welcomed students, families, faculty, and staff back to campus on Thursday, September 4, 2025, marking the official start of the 2025–26 school year. The day was filled with energy, excitement, and cherished Far Hills traditions that brought the community together.
The morning began with the First Day Parent Coffee, where families gathered after drop-off to connect with one another, share stories, and celebrate the start of a new year. The relaxed event provided both new and returning parents a chance to build relationships, catch up, and join in the spirit of the day.
Students and faculty then came together for the Bell Ringing Ceremony, a time-honored tradition that symbolizes a fresh start and the collective journey ahead. With opening remarks and the ringing of the school bell, the entire community embraced the excitement of new beginnings and the promise of growth in the year to come.
One of the most heartwarming highlights of the morning was the Kindergarten and Grade 8 Tote Bag Ceremony. In this special event, Grade 8 leaders officially welcomed Kindergarteners into the community by presenting them with their very own Far Hills tote bags. The ceremony was not only a milestone for the Kindergarteners as they began their next chapter, but also a meaningful moment for the Grade 8 students, who stepped into their roles as leaders and role models for the younger Falcons. The tradition celebrates growth on both ends—welcoming Kindergarteners with joy while underscoring the responsibility, mentorship, and example-setting that come with being in the oldest grade at Far Hills.
From joyful reunions in the hallways to the traditions that bind generations of Far Hills students, the first day was a meaningful reminder of the school’s strong community spirit. With these celebrations setting the tone, the 2025–26 school year is off to an inspiring start.
