Far Hills Alumni Event Recap: A Night of Connection and Celebration at Flint Hill Preserve
On January 16, Far Hills alumni spanning the Classes of 1973 to 1994 gathered at Flint Hill Preserve for an unforgettable evening of connection, nostalgia, and celebration. The event welcomed 43 attendees, including 25 alumni and, in many cases, their guests—many of whom are parents of alumni themselves.
The purpose of the evening was clear: to remind attendees of the unique bond they share through Far Hills, rekindle cherished memories, and highlight the importance of alumni involvement as the school approaches its 100th-anniversary celebration in 2029. This gathering was the first of many alumni-focused events to bring together classes across decades.
The atmosphere buzzed with joy and laughter as alumni reminisced about their time at Far Hills, sharing stories about classmates, teachers, and unforgettable moments. Two thoughtfully curated slideshows played on opposite ends of the venue, sparking countless conversations about “back in the day” memories. Funny anecdotes and fond recollections filled the air, setting a lighthearted and nostalgic tone for the evening.
The evening officially kicked off with remarks from Chapin Durling '92, P'26, '26, '29, Alexandra Allen '83, P'26, and Georgia Zaiser P'12, '16, who spoke about the school’s enduring legacy and the vital role alumni play in shaping its future. Their words underscored the event's purpose and reminded attendees that Far Hills is more than a shared memory—it’s a community that continues to thrive thanks to their ongoing support and engagement.
Held across three rooms and a tented patio, the event offered plenty of space for mingling and reconnecting, despite the snow and cold preventing some planned outdoor activities (yes, even a Green vs. White tug of war, complete with a rope brought by Ron Santone!). Former and current faculty like Linda Houghland, Maedean and Dan Kramer, and Ron Sansone brought their energy and enthusiasm to the evening, further cementing the sense of family that defines the Far Hills community.
As attendees said their goodbyes, there was a palpable excitement for what’s ahead—not only for Far Hills’ centennial milestone but also for the many upcoming opportunities to connect with other alumni and celebrate the school that brought them all together.
Stay tuned for future alumni events as we continue building momentum toward this once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Together, we’ll honor the past and create an even brighter future for Far Hills Country Day School.
