A Day of Spirit and Celebration: Field Day 2026 Brings the Far Hills Community Together

Field Day 2026 was a memorable celebration of teamwork, school spirit, and community as students from every grade came together for one of Far Hills’ most beloved traditions. Dressed in their team colors and ready to compete, students arrived eager to represent Team Green or Team White and make their mark on the day’s events.

Throughout the day, the campus buzzed with excitement as students rotated through a variety of competitions that tested their speed, strength, skill, and teamwork. Relay races, obstacle courses, football throws, hula-hoop challenges, and countless other activities kept competitors moving while classmates lined the sidelines, cheering them on. Tug-of-war once again proved to be a fan favorite, drawing some of the loudest cheers of the day as teams battled for every point. Whether earning points on the field or encouraging teammates from the sidelines, every student contributed to the energy and enthusiasm that make Field Day so special.

The competition remained incredibly close throughout the day, with Team Green and Team White trading points and victories from one event to the next. As the final scores were tallied, the two teams found themselves in an unprecedented situation: a tie. For the first time in Field Day history, the overall championship would be decided by a winner-take-all Grade 8 tug-of-war showdown. With the entire school gathered around the ropes and cheering at the top of their lungs, the eighth graders dug in for one final battle. In a dramatic finish, Team White emerged victorious, securing the championship and earning bragging rights for the year.

Beyond the competition, the day was a celebration of community. It was wonderful to welcome alumni back to campus, many of whom returned to reconnect with former classmates and teachers while joining in the excitement of the day. Their presence served as a reminder of the lasting connections and traditions that continue long after graduation.

Director of Athletics and Physical Education Ron Sansone reflected on the day, sharing, “Field Day is one of the best examples of what makes this community so special. It’s not just about competition—it’s about teamwork, sportsmanship, and showing up for one another. The energy, effort, and positivity we saw from our students today were truly outstanding.”

A special thank you goes to Ron Sansone and Westley Lennon for their leadership, organization, and countless hours of preparation that made this incredible day possible. We are also grateful to our dedicated faculty and staff who helped run events, cheer on students, and ensure a safe and successful experience for everyone. Most importantly, thank you to our students for bringing such enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and school pride to every moment of the day.
