Parent Community

We warmly welcome and encourage parents to be an integral part of our school life.

At Far Hills Country Day School, we believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for the success and well-being of our students. Our school values the active involvement of parents in our vibrant school community.

Parent involvement enriches our students' educational experiences and fosters community. By participating in school activities, events, and committees, parents can make meaningful contributions and create lasting memories with their children. The Parents' Committee is an excellent way to engage with the Far Hills community. We encourage all parents to join and attend meetings, contribute their ideas, and participate in events.

The Parents' Committee, a volunteer group of dedicated parents, meets monthly to share information and plan events open to all Far Hills families. The committee fosters friendships, builds positive school spirit, nurtures communication between parents and the school, and assists with classroom and administrative needs as they arise. Working closely with school leadership, the Parents' Committee supports our mission, programs, and activities.

Parents' Committee Structure

Meetings are typically held the first Wednesday of each month, either in person or via Zoom, after morning drop-off in the Far Hills Cafe. These meetings also feature Curriculum Spotlights, focusing on various academic or enrichment topics each month, often with student and faculty presenters. The Parents' Committee operates on a July 1–June 30 calendar, applicable to all Parents' Committee memberships and expenses.

Comprising Executive Committee members, Class Parents, and other key volunteer leaders, the Parents' Committee plays a significant role in the life of our school.

We Value Your Input

Your feedback and ideas are important to us. We encourage parents to share their thoughts and suggestions with the Parents' Committee or school administration. Together, we can create an enriching environment for our children. Whether you’re a new or returning parent, we invite you to be an active participant in our school community. Your involvement makes a difference, and we look forward to working together to support our students’ growth and success.

We are always available to discuss new ideas, troubleshoot challenges, or receive constructive feedback. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Our goal is to find fun, meaningful, and rewarding ways for you to be involved. For more information on how to get involved, please contact Tom Evans at tevans@fhcds.org.
