Welcome to the heart of our school community—the Far Hills Country Day School Cafe!

Just as the kitchen is the heart of every home, our Cafe serves as a central gathering place for students, faculty, and families. Here, we come together to share meals, host meetings, chat over coffee, and even engage in learning activities.

In partnership with Brock Dining Services, we provide our students with delicious, nutritious meals that support their growth and learning. Under the expert guidance of Chef Jennifer Monaco and her dedicated team, our menus feature fresh, from scratch dishes made with seasonal ingredients. We are proud to be a nut-aware school, ensuring the safety and well-being of all our students.

A Space for Community and Connection

Our Cafe is more than just a dining hall; it is a vibrant hub of daily interactions and community building. Each day, it buzzes with the lively conversations of friends, the collaborative spirit of various projects, and the warm atmosphere of shared meals. Whether it's a casual coffee break for teachers, empanada making in Spanish Class, or learning how maple syrup is made in Science Class after tapping trees on campus, the Cafe is where connections are made and strengthened.

At Far Hills Country Day School, our Cafe becomes a vibrant hub of cultural celebration as we honor a myriad of holidays throughout the year. Each festivity is a reflection of our diverse community, where students and staff alike share and experience the rich traditions of different cultures.

These celebrations not only provide a feast for the senses but also foster an environment of understanding and unity, teaching us to appreciate the beautiful mosaic of traditions that make up our school community.

Sustainability is at the Heart of Our Cafe Operations.

We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint through a variety of eco-friendly practices. Our menu features locally sourced, organic ingredients, minimizing food miles and supporting local farmers. We have eliminated single-use plastics, opting instead for reusable or compostable utensils and containers.

Through these efforts, we aim to cultivate a culture of sustainability, teaching our students the importance of caring for our planet.

Mindfulness and Well-Being

At the end of each lunch period, students at Far Hills Country Day School engage in a brief mindfulness practice. This daily ritual helps them refocus on the present moment, fostering a sense of calm and clarity that prepares them for the remainder of their school day.

This practice is an integral part of our commitment to the holistic development of our students, nurturing their mental and emotional well-being alongside their academic growth.
