Grade 4 (Rising Grade 5) World Language Choice

Dear Grade 4 Parents,

When students enter into the Upper School in Grade 5, they begin the formal study of a world language. The Upper School world language offerings are Chinese, Latin and Spanish. You will use this form to submit your child's choice for a language of study for his/her Upper School Grades 5, 6, 7 and 8.

  • Does your child have a genuine interest in a particular language or culture or history?
  • Does your family have a personal connection to a particular language or culture?
  • What are your child's long-term language learning goals for high school and beyond?

Please discuss these questions with your child and together fully consider the decision. Please be aware that with this choice, your child is making a four-year commitment to learning this language. During your decision-making process, feel free to reach out to Jennifer Phillips if you need further information about our world language programs.

Decisions must be submitted BEFORE Friday, May 24.

Please complete and submit this online form with your child’s first and second world language choices as soon as possible and BEFORE Friday, May 24
