A co-educational private school for Preschool–Grade Eight

Extended Day

Boy student writing

The Extended Day Program (EDP) is open to all full-day students at Far Hills. The program provides supervised oversight after regular school hours until 6 p.m. each day. Extended Day is designed to accommodate the needs of both students and parents—that extends our mission beyond regular classroom hours.

Extended Day includes:

  • a snack
  • indoor/outdoor activities using our gym, playground and field space
  • an opportunity for students to start homework with Extended Day supervision

Extended Day Program Fall 2020

We have every intention to run our Extended Day Program (EDP) at FH this fall. It will be run as the academic school day runs. This includes keeping students in cohorts, requiring masks to be worn, and limiting activities to those deemed safe.

Pick up time is always no later than 6 p.m. If you are able to pick your child up earlier, we would encourage you to do so.

When the weather permits, we intend to be outside as much as possible on our athletic fields. When the weather does not cooperate our indoor space will include two (2) classrooms in the Piazza, the Athletic Center (gymnasium), and the Cafe.

Students who participate in EDP will be required to wear face masks.

Registration for our Extended Day Program (EDP) will be online just as it has been in the past. We ask that you register in advance as much as possible so we know how to plan our afternoon. We understand that last-minute drop-ins will happen. We will always take your child into EDP.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Brian Junger. bjunger@fhcds.org

Register for all After School Programs through the Camp Brain Portal. Instructions can be found here.

Extended Day is not held during 12 p.m. dismissal days but is held on 2 p.m. dismissal days.

Cost: $23/day for Extended Day
