Virtual Coding Classes
This program run by the Coding Space, allows kids and students of all ages to learn to code while developing critical thinking skills.
Course Description:
At The Coding Space, we're on a mission to help kids develop critical thinking skills, confidence, and self-expression through learning to code. Whether kids are new to coding or already proficient in programming languages like Scratch or JavaScript, our interactive, virtual coding classes are fun for everyone. Your child will receive personalized attention through our signature 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio and be challenged at their individual level in a self-paced, project-based environment.
Course Length: Beginning the week of March 22–May 10
Wednesdays: Grades 5–8
Thursdays: Grades 1–4
Eight-weeks
Course Fee: Total cost for the eight-week session course is $270
Additional Information: Space is limited and capped at twelve students per section in order to maintain the 4:1 student-to-teacher ratio
Registration closes 24-hours before the first class
Two students per section are needed to run the course
Full refunds will be given if not enough students register
Section 1: Grades 1–4
Students will learn the building blocks of programming and develop their computational thinking skills through specially curated activities in code.org and Scratch, tackling more complex ideas and concepts as they advance through the class. Advanced students may shift into text-based coding in WoofJS, our JavaScript learning platform.

Section 2: Grades 5–8
Whether they are new to coding or have experience with Scratch or text-based languages, students will find the right spot for them to start or continue their coding journey. Students will code in Scratch or WoofJS, our JavaScript learning platform, and tackle more complex ideas and concepts as they advance through the class. Advanced students may shift into web-based programming in JavaScript.

Virtual Chess
Join with a Classmate! Learn the fundamentals of chess!
Increasingly popular, chess proves to improve children's verbal, spatial, and mathematical reasoning and decision-making, and self-esteem. Taught by the experts (and National Masters!) at Start Right Chess, Inc., your child will develop a solid foundation in the rules and principles of sound chess play. Students will learn and play at their level of expertise. The one-hour and fifteen-minute online session includes small group lessons, organized competitive play, access to valuable chess resources, optional homework, and fun. Checkmate!

Length: Tuesday, March 23 through Tuesday, May 25

Tuesdays 4:00–5:15 p.m.
Fee: $300
Additional Information: Ten students minimum needed to run the class
Secondary School Bootcamp
We are pleased to offer again the secondary school boot camp with Mr. Kramer this summer to rising eighth-grade students. The goal is to have this program in person, but it will be a virtual course if we are unable.

Length: Monday–Friday
9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Fee: $399 for one week LIVE
