Shrek The Musical Jr begins Monday, March 25 for K–Grade 2.

Shrek The Musical Jr begins on Thursday, March 28 for Grades 3–4.

Kiddie Soccer and American Sign Language will begin Friday, March 29. This is our first week back so sign up now. 

All other classes will begin the week of April 1, 2019. Please be sure to check below for the dates of your registered classes. 

Enrichment classes will not be held when there is a 2 p.m. dismissal.

  • Extended Day and Enrichment do not take place on days when there is a 12 p.m. dismissal.

Mondays

Intro to Piano—4 spaces available

Instructor: Jessica Fielding, Conservatory Teacher at FH

  • Grades: PreK4–Grade 1
  • Time: 3:30 p.m.–4:15 p.m.
  • Cost: $240

Do you have a four-, five-, or six-year old year old student who is interested in piano? This class is a great place to start. Intro to Piano is geared for young children to learn the basics of piano in a group setting. Ms. Jessica Fielding, a Music Conservatory teacher at Far Hills, teaches this course using the Music for Little Mozarts curriculum. This curriculum is written specifically for young ages and provides a balance between the discipline necessary for playing the piano and the enjoyment one receives from the process of music making. Color Me Calm—10 spaces available

Instructor: Darcy Petrie, Teacher at FH  

  • Grades: K–2
  • Time: 3:30 p.m.–4:30 p.m.

Explore color and pattern using natural materials, glass, colorful foods, and meditative long-term coloring projects. Students will plan intentional color schemes, create mandalas, infinite patterns, and intricate element and nature symbols using high-quality  colored pencils, all while listening to music that soothes the soul. Each class will begin and end with guided relaxation techniques to refresh our creative spirits. 

Book & Cook!—10 spaces available

Join Ms. Tuazon in yet another fun-filled cooking class. This time, she will dazzle you with delicious treats from all of your favorite books. Imagine how much you will enjoy Green Eggs & Ham, James and the Giant Peach and Mr. Poppers Penguin cupcakes.

Shrek The Musical Jr. (K–Grade 2)

Singing! Dancing! Action! Come join Mrs. Brower and Mrs. Burns in this spring's musical production of Shrek The Musical Jr.! Each week will be filled with singing, dancing, acting, and more, as we prepare to perform Shrek The Musical Jr. on Thursday, May 23, at 1:30 and 4:30 in the PAC. During the week of May 20 (5/20, 5/21, and 5/22), students are expected to participate in rehearsals after school every day from 3:30–5:00 in order to be ready for the 5/23 performances. 

Students who are in grades K–Grade 2 will be participating in the ensemble numbers in this production. Students in Grade 3 will participate in the supporting and ensemble roles. Students in Grade 4 will participate in the lead, supporting, and ensemble roles. Ensemble roles like Birds, Trees, Deer, Woodland Creatures, and Fairy Tale Creatures are the backbone of the musical. They help create the hilarious and lovely world of Shrek The Musical Jr. All roles are important. Please encourage your child to perform no matter what role they might receive. 

 

Tuesdays

The Checkmate Chess Club

Instructor: Peter McBride, Teacher at FH

Chess is a wonderful game that unlocks a child’s imagination and teaches them to think, plan and strategize. The Checkmate Chess Club is for beginner and intermediate players in Grades 2–5. Participants in this class will work on puzzles, learn new moves, and play games in a fun, stress-free environment.

A Robot and a Green Screen

Instructor: Monica Lluch, EdTech Consultant

  • Grades: 3–5
  • Time: 3:30–4:30 p.m.
  • Cost: $250

In this eclectic offering, participants will be introduced to robotics, circuit boards and green screen technologies.  After creating a storyboard, participants will build the main robot character and electronic props.  Everything will then come together in a short film using green screen technology.  Participants are required to bring in one clean aluminum soda can for this Enrichment Class.

 

Mix, Mince, Make: Mason Jar Magic! (10 spaces available)

Instructor: Laila Ballon, Extended Day Supervisor at FH

We will be creating tasty snacks and delicious desserts like homemade salsa, overnight oats, and apple pie parfaits. You will leave class with your creative culinary concoctions packed in the perfect single serving container—a mason jar.

Wednesdays

Tae Kwon Do (PreK4–Grade 3)

Instructor - Power Training Center, Bernardsville, Nj

  • Grades: PreK4–3  
  • Time: 3:30–4:30 p.m.

Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art with an emphasis on kicking. This action-oriented class involves kicking, punching, self-defense and basic hand motions. There will also be obstacle courses, stretching, and board breaking. The class is oriented toward skills accomplishment and progressive learning. At the conclusion of the class, there is a test for the students to achieve their next color belt (additional fee).Testing is optional. Additional $25 uniform purchase required.

Mindful Yoga & Fine Art - 10 spaces available

Instructor: Kailyn Cavaluzzo, Extended Day Counselor & SubstituteTeacher at FH

  • Time: 3:30–4:30 p.m.

Join Ms. Cavaluzzo as she teaches simple meditation techniques, moving into music and yoga poses. During the second part of each class, the children will make drawings of their poses and also subjects such as peaceful visualizations of their "happy places" (like the beach, forest, mountains) or things related to their positive intentions/goals for the week. 

TGA Golf—10 spaces available

TGA stands for Teach-Grow-Achieve. TGA makes it convenient and fun for your child to learn and play golf right on their school campus! The curriculums were specially designed by industry-leading golf professionals and education specialists to ensure that the lesson plans are age-appropriate and easy to understand and retain. Students will experience a mix of golf instruction, rules and etiquette lessons, educational components, character development lessons and physical activity as they advance through the five-level program. The screened and certified instructors have a passion for working with children and are trained to help your student-athlete develop a strong foundation of skills and knowledge as well as a passion for the sport. These concepts are the foundation of the TGA program. The golf coach will help your child develop their skills and passion for golf. TGA prides themselves on your child walking away from the program having learned life skills such as respect, honesty, perseverance and sportsmanship. Only 10 spaces available.

Join Ms. Cirelli in this high energy class that combines a range of fitness activities. Weather will not stand in the way of this class—all activities can be done either outside (weather permitting) or indoors. Come and challenge yourself this spring and fuel your fitness.

Kiddie Soccer

Instructor: Kiddie Soccer Coaches

  • Grades: PreK (4 years) –Grade 1
  • Time: 3:30–4:30 p.m.

Kiddie Soccer is a fun-filled and age appropriate soccer program for PreK–Grade 1 boys and girls. The sessions are based on various thematic games that are fun and non-competitive, yet instructional. The coaching staff is made up of men and women who coach and play soccer, but more importantly, are experienced in working with young children. All participants receive a Kiddie Soccer t-shirt after the first class, and a Kiddie Soccer participation medal when the class concludes.

American Sign Language (10 spaces available)

Join this new class where your child can learn the basics of American Sign Language. The class will include games and activities to learn how to sign. Your child will come home and teach you new ways to communicate.
