WEEK 5

TO THE RESCUE! ENGINEERING AIRDROP PACKAGES

Join FH science teacher Mrs. Wagar! Package engineering involves the design, development, and production of packages. Packages are all around us in the form of boxes, envelopes, food containers, and medicine bottles, just to name a few. When people are cut off from essential supplies after floods or earthquakes, sometimes the only way to quickly deliver food, water, medicine, and other necessities is through humanitarian airdrops (yes...packages dropped from airplanes). Kids will plan, design, engineer, test, and improve packages to be “dropped.”

Ages: 8–11 (Grades 3–6)

Dates: WEEK 5 July 16–20

Times: 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Cost: $369

You never know what STEAM challenge awaits you each day. Kids will use the Engineering Design process to explore a different challenge (or two!) each day. Come ready to persevere, problem-solve, and have fun along the way!
