THE MATTHEWS ACADEMIC LEARNING LAB (M.A.L.L.) 2018–19
The M.A.L.L. learning specialists work with students and their teachers to support students’ classroom learning and assist classroom teachers in helping students learn how to learn.
The Learning Lab.:
Provides a safe, comfortable, effective learning space for students
Supports classroom learning by offering resources and strategies for study and learning skills
Provides short-term assistance in study and organization, writing, and problem solving skills
Offers small-group learning strategies and study skills instruction for designated students during dropped language classes
Helps students develop self-advocacy skills
Coordinates classroom and testing accommodations
Assists classroom teachers with strategies to differentiate instruction to support students’ learning
The M.A.L.L. is available to all students in grades 5-8 for organization and study skills support.
Organization / Study Skills
Morning drop-in: Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 8:00am.
Your child will need to sign-in at the front office.
Afternoon conference period: Monday -Thursday, 2:20pm - 2:45pm.
Your child will check-in with his/her advisor before heading to the M.A.L.L.
(5th grade students will have extended time for math support on Wednesdays)
