The entire secondary school process is incorporated into the eighth-grade curriculum.
Through their participation, students learn valuable life skills such as goal setting, long-range planning, and organization.
Test prep, essay writing, and interviewing skills are interwoven into the regular school day in homeroom, English and math. In our award-winning advising program, students work one-on-one with faculty advisors who become their mentors, academic counselors, and advocates.
Our Director of Secondary School Counseling meets with each family and student starting in the seventh-grade year to discuss secondary school options and explain the application process. Throughout the eighth-grade year he works with students and families as a guide, and directly advocates on the behalf of each student to the schools to which they apply.
